Today’s entry does not involve any baking and is completely boring. But I love it!
Paul’s backpacking this weekend with two of my brothers so I’m on my own this morning (well Sherman, our trusty golden retriever, is here much to his chagrin, preferring Paul to me but that’s another story).

The key to outstanding oatmeal is using steel cut oats. It’s the only way to go. Seriously, oatmeal is not right unless you use steel cut oats. No other options. Period.
I use the John McCann kind. Just follow the directions on the container and add whatever you like, sweet or savory… I like brown sugar, bananas, walnuts, and milk.
